Hi there LVMG folks!

Thunder has placed Tammy and I in charge of gathering and editing submissions for the meetup group's newsletter.

Here are the sorts of things we are looking for:

- Vampire related art reviews
- Vampire related artwork
- Vampire or meetup group related photography
- Vampire related music reviews (releases or gigs)
- Vampire related literature or poetry reviews (published or readings, et cetera)
- Vampire related original material
- Vampire related events of any sort for our listings page
- Vampire related fashion
- Vampire related ANYTHING!

Get the sense of a theme here?

Here are the rules of the game:

Send Tammy or I your submissions. By sending them to us, you are agreeing to allow us to publish them in our newsletter. We have the right to edit or refuse to use material as we see fit. (Don't worry. This does not mean we will be hacking up your submissions. It mean we will fix typos or save material for the next newsletter, et cetera) You retain all rights to the material. You will be given credit for anything published in the newsletter. Hardcopies will not be returned. (Be sure to send a copy or something you don't mind relenquishing.) Fun stuff will emerge in the form of the London Vampire Meetup Group newsletter and we will all be extremely pleased!

Anything you can or want to send in will be greatly appreciated!

Thanks and I hope to be sifting through all your submissions soon!
Cheers!
Will

Hey... Nice pic! Where'd you get that?

That would be super cool! Thanks! Let me know if you want to review these tracks for the newsletter. I think that would make an interesting article, especially if there are many more to include (surely there are...)

Thaks again and see you on the 2nd!

"Vampire related original material"

Please don't think this is a dumb question, but... does that include novels? And also would the author of such material be given some kind of payment? Just thought I'd ask you know... in case I get the wrong end of the stick when submitting stuff...

I won't be submitting anything yet though, for I haven't finished anything...
Your help will be most appreciated on this matter...

Hope to hear from you soon...

Deadboy365

P.S. I would like to go, but... I can't just up and leave my family for reasons that I cannot explain just yet... I'll explain to all in my first meetup (whenever that will be I just don't know...)
But I do hope to attend a future meet - just not the next one or the one after that... it may take a while for me to actually do something that's going to be worth my while in this life...
I wish I was born in a different family - one where I am better off doing the things that I'd like, but... that is not the way of the world today...

Hi there Deadboy365!

That definitely includes novels, but they would have to be included in segments or serial presentations.

As for payment, no, we simply don't have the money to pay for submissions. We would love to do that, but this is not a distributed publication; only one for the members that make it out to the meet ups, so basically, we make no money from them and unfortunately at this time, cannot offer money either. Heck, we probably loose money from them. That could change in the future, though.

You would always retain the rights to your material. By submitting material you have given the group permission to reproduce your material for the purpose of the newsletter. As far as I know, the newsletters are one-offs and are not available for reprint in hard copy, but I suppose it would be possible for members to request an electronic copy. Not sure there. I will have to check on that. Perhaps that is either too much work for the head editor or it is not feasible legally. Stay tuned for that answer later.

No worries about when you get to the meet up. This is a social group, so we do love to see people come out, but we also all know it is not always possible and there are other ways of engaging the group. When you get out, please do say hello!

Thanks Deadboy365 and more soon on the newsletter goodies!
Cheers!

Hey Will...

Yeah no problem...
but... I don't think I will post my novels though - maybe my poems but... not the novels, I don't think, because they are too much for the newsletter I just realised that... HAHA! biggrin
so... yeah I might send some poems - the best ones that I have available may be sent... and maybe the occasional one that I deem crap biggrin

and yeah I still hope to come to the meet some time anyway just haven't a clue yet... I hate having to remain behind the scenes when all others are having fun... crying it so annoying for me...

and also about the payment:
I wouldn't mind if it were just something small like... one beer perhaps biggrin? - it doesn't have to be money... coz I would have my novels to generate that when I finish them... HAHA!!! biggrin
so yeah don't worry about payments......... after all it was only meant as a suggestion... biggrin

"more soon on the newsletter goodies" Oooohhh can't wait for that! (YAY!!!) am a bit crazy in the head at the moment...
biggrin

Will,
On the review score, has anyone done a review for the writer Raven Dane who's written the Blood Tears and Blood Lament series? If not, I'll happily submit something. Also, I might have a few poems that might crawl into the newsletter, if granted permission. : P

Hey there!

No, no one has done anything of the sort that would be superb if you want to submit just that! It would be perfect for the newsletter and greatly appreciated!

I can privately message you about this...

Cheers!
